That at the time of the conviction, the jury were doubtless satisfied of the guilt of your Petitioner, but since it has been proved ... that the said Too Apo was then and had been formerly guilty of extorting money under the circumstances aforesaid, the conviction of the Too Apo naturally gives rise to suspicions that the said Too Apo was actuated by similar motives in giving his evidence against your Petitioner.
